About the Band

The Derrico Project is a completely customizable party band fit for any event! With their combined experience performing of over 30 years, they are lead by husband and wife team, Jenny and Scotty, who stive to create a live music experience tailored to your preferences and event needs. Band composition ranges from a two piece acoustic band to a full rhythm and vocal section with optional horn(s), and the band covers genres such as Motown, Disco, Dance, Top 40, Hip Hop, Country, & R&B. Their high energy and interactive approach to shows keeps dance floors busy all night long!

What type of events do you play?

Weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, galas, private parties, public events, and more! Basically, we play anywhere people want to have a good time and enjoy live music!

How big is the band?

We are fully customizable. From an acoustic duo or trio, to a full rhythm, vocal, and horn section band, we can accommodate just about any style or event.

How do I decide what size band to hire?

We will consult with you throughout your planning to help you decide what size band, and which band composition (types of players/vocalists) would be best for your event. In the meantime, here is a general guideline to help you choose:

Small gatherings: We recommend a duo or trio combo for a relaxed, intimate atmosphere.
Large celebrations: A 5+ piece group with optional horn player(s) will create unforgettable party energy.

What kind of music do you play?

Everything from Motown and Disco, to Classic Rock, Funk, Pop/Dance, R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, and even Country! We have music for all ages and energy levels. We even know the Hora, and Jenny can sing in Spanish!

Will you learn special songs for our event?

We are happy to learn up to three special songs per event. This can include (but is not limited to first dances, mother/father dances, theme songs, last dances, etc.

Do we get to pick the songs you play?

We will work with you to create a customizable set list for your event. During this process we will send you a "Please Play", and "Please Do Not Play" spreadsheet to help us tailor the event to your liking.

Do you bring your own sound equipment to events?

Yes, we provide professional-grade sounds for all of our shows. We are also happy to use your venue's equipment if that is preferred.

How long does a typical performance last?

The duration of a live music performance can vary depending on the type of event and the preferences of the client. Our standard performance time is usually between 2-4 hours, with breaks in between.

Do you play ceremonies, dinner, or cocktail hours?

Yes, we can provide speakers and a playlist, acoustic, or instrumental options for any of those events, which can either be incorporated into a four hour performance, or added to a standard contract at an additional cost.

Can you make announcements?

Yes, we can! Jenny is an experienced emcee (as well as educational leader) and can handle any and all announcements during your event.

Will there be music during your breaks?

Absolutely! We keep the energy going with generated playlists, played through out personal devices between sets.

I see your band is from the greater Richmond area. Do you travel outside of that area?

We are ready and willing to travel wherever our music takes us! Typically, we ask our musicians to travel within about a 60 mile radius, but they are able to travel further with additional accommodations.

What is the booking process like?

After contacting us with your event details, we will provide you with a quote and contract. Once the contract is signed and a deposit is received, we will confirm the booking and begin preparing for the event.

How far in advance should we book the band?

Popular dates can fill up 6-12 months in advance. We recommend you reach out as soon as you have your date and venue to lock in the band.
